Bloomfield Township, MI — Theatre fans unite! Broadway in Detroit will host a Tony Awards® watch party at the Maple Theater & Kitchen for local fans of the Great White Way when the 72nd annual Tony Awards will take place this Sunday, June 10 (at 8:00 p.m. ET), and broadcast live from New York City’s famed Radio City Music Hall on CBS. This year’s show will be hosted by two of music’s biggest names — and two Broadway alums — Josh Groban and Sara Bareilles!
Known as the destination for indie and vintage cinema with a stylish bar and upscale cafe, The Maple Kitchen will roll out the red carpet by offering pre-show dinner packages for $40 with a 6:30 p.m. seating. Dinner includes a fabulous three-course menu, unlimited popcorn, fountain soft drinks, coffee & tea as well as a Fisher Theatre gift bag. At 8 p.m., dinner guests will move to the theatre to watch the awards live on one of the Maple’s large screens.
A viewing party pass is also available for $10 and includes unlimited popcorn and soda pop.

The major nominees of the night are: Tied for the most nominations at 12 are Mean Girls and SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical — the first based on the hit 2004 film and the other on the popular Nickelodeon cartoon. They’ll be up in the top category of best musical against two other well-known titles: The Band’s Visit (a 2007 Israeli film) and Frozen (a 2013 animated film).
Presenters include Uzo Aduba, Christine Baranski, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Melissa Benoist, Matt Bomer, Erich Bergen, Rachel Bloom, Rachel Brosnahan, Tituss Burgess, Claire Danes, Michigan’s own Jeff Daniels, Robert De Niro, Brandon Victor Dixon, Armie Hammer, Christopher Jackson, Billy Joel, Patti LuPone, Tatiana Maslany, Katharine McPhee, Matthew Morrison, Leslie Odom, Jr.,Kelli O’Hara, Jim Parsons, Bernadette Peters, Zachary Quinto, Andrew Rannells, Kerry Washington, Ming-Na Wen, and Marissa Jaret Winokur.
Top comedic actresses Tina Fey and Amy Schumer, will also present, as will Lifetime Achievement recipients John Leguizamo, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Chita Rivera.
Broadway in Detroit will also hosts an interactive event on its Facebook, Twitter and Instagram platforms. The social media event will happen at the same time as the Live Tony Awards® Viewing Party with commentary, contests, and ticket and gift certificate giveaways!
