LOS ANGELES – Organizers of the Los Angeles Auto Show’s (LA Auto Show®) AutoMobility LA™ today announced that more than 50 vehicles are confirmed to make their debut at the 2018 show, taking place Nov. 26-Nov. 29 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
This year, established automakers such as BMW, Toyota, Volkswagen and electric vehicle newcomers BYTON and Rivian will have multiple models making their global and North American debuts during the four-day event. BMW returns to AutoMobility LA amidst its largest-ever product offensive, featuring three world premiere production vehicles and a new concept that will preview the German automaker’s vision for the future. In addition, the all-new BMW X5 Sports Activity Vehicle will make its North American debut alongside the all-new BMW 8 Series Coupe and the BMW Z4 M40i Roadster.
Volkswagen has confirmed both global and North American reveals including an electric concept, as well as GTI and Beetle special editions. Toyota is launching five new vehicles at the show, including hybrid and special edition models. Subaru will also have multiple introductions, including a plug-in hybrid.
Nissan, Porsche, Volvo and several other marques have confirmed model introductions for AutoMobility LA; Tesla will also be at the show, with a full display of current models.
As the automotive industry shifts toward electric and alternative fuel powertrains, this year’s AutoMobility LA will showcase new technologies to further its commitment to autonomy, connectivity, electrification, and sharing. Rivian’s all-new electric adventure pickup and full-sized SUV will make their world premiere on Nov. 27, ahead of most automakers’ announcements which are scheduled for Nov. 28-29.
“As the nation’s number one green vehicle market, it is fitting that nearly one-third of the debuts slated for this year’s AutoMobility LA are electric or alternative fuel,” said Lisa Kaz, President and CEO of AutoMobility LA and the LA Auto Show. “It is exciting to see how many volume and luxury brands are offering greener mobility options for environmentally-conscious Southern Californians.”
AutoMobility LA is an annual event that showcases the latest in automotive innovation and aims to further the discussion around an ever-changing industry. Each year, the show gathers leading automakers, technology companies, designers, entrepreneurs, government officials and more. Tuesday’s AutoMobility LA Conference is where attendees can gain insight from a diverse mix of experts, explore auto-tech exhibits and meet the winners of the Top Ten Automotive Startups Competition and Hackathon at AutoMobility LA. The show’s Wednesday and Thursday lineup will feature vehicle debuts by established automakers and startups, award announcements and several networking events.
