DETROIT — At the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, I spotted a red 2019 Veloster that I had to know more about.  Vy, Product Specialist, told me that this beauty comes in regular, turbo & N.  It comes in 2.0 liter, 1.6 turbo, and the 2.0 turbo for the N performance vehicle.

This Veloster has 201 horsepower and 195 pounds of torque and a manual transmission.  It gets 26 mpg city, 33 mpg highway with a combined 29 mpg for the 6-speed manual transmission.  The 7-speed Eco-shift DCT automatic transmission get 28 mpg city, 34 mpg highway and a 30 mpg combined.

“This red coupe comes with three doors, the extra third door is on the passenger side for safety, so that it is not on the side of oncoming traffic,” says Vy.

“This vehicle also includes lane keep assist, pedestrian detection, smart cruise control with gauges the distance from the car ahead of you.  It can be set for one-car distance, two-car distance or three-car distance.”

“The Veloster comes with heated seats, 18″ alloy wheels, blind spot collision warning, forward collision avoidance assist with pedestrian detection.  There is an 8″ GPS main screen and a heads up display screen in front of you which shows your speed and GPS,” added Vy.

The Veloster is made in Korea, with prices starting at $22,900 and goes to $28,150.
