AmericaJR’s Jason Rzucidlo recently visited the picturesque city of Page, Arizona. Sparkling Lake Powell’s a standout for water sports in scenic canyon country. The nation’s second-largest manmade lake dominates Glen Canyon National Recreation area, but there are also unforgettable, land-based sights where sand, sky, and water meet. Locals say that until recently, few knew of Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon. But word on their eye-popping beauty has gotten out. These two top-rated attractions are among the most photographed in the Southwest. The trailhead – a sandy incline just off Highway 89 – leads to the lip of Horseshoe Bend, which plunges 1,000 feet to the Colorado River below.
Page, Arizona is 273 miles from both Las Vegas, Nevada and Phoenix, Arizona; and 540 miles from Los Angeles, California. For more information about visiting Page, go to https://www.visitarizona.com/cities/northern/page.
