Marvel Monday: Trailer released for the final season of “Jessica Jones”

The final season of "Jessica Jones" premieres this Friday on Netflix

Marvel’s Jessica Jones has been called everything from a hard-drinking, short-fused hot mess to a private investigator who’s resourceful, a super-powered vigilante killer and a hero who gives a s**t and does something about it.  Now, the final season finds her bad reputation front and center once more when someone is on a mission to prove that Jessica Jones is three things: a liar, a cheater, and a fraud.  More than that, he’s going to show her and the people of New York that she isn’t the one word she thinks she always knew since the beginning, and that word is hero.

However, this someone doesn’t know Jessica Jones as we do, and he’s going to.  Jessica Jones may and/or may not be a hero in the traditional sense, but she’s a hero who’s three things: a survivor, a fighter, and a defender.

Krysten Ritter has been playing the role of the smart-a** detective since 2015 – including Marvel’s eight-part limited series The Defenders in 2017 alongside Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Mike Colter (Luke Cage) and Finn Jones (Iron Fist).  The actress also directs an episode focusing on the titular character’s adoptive sister/best friend Trish “Patsy” Walker (Rachael Taylor), who’s beginning her life as a shadowy, masked vigilante.

Jessica Jones may be ending, but Krysten Ritter’s life is just beginning as the actress is expecting her first child with boyfriend Adam Granduciel, the frontman of the independent band The War on Drugs.  Ritter showed her baby bump when she announced her pregnancy at the Oscars back in February.

The final season of Marvel’s Jessica Jones debuts on Netflix this Friday.
