Review: ‘The Naked Magicians’ makes for a perfect girls night out

The Naked Magicians

DETROIT — Direct from Las Vegas, “The Naked Magicians” made a stop at the Music Hall in Detroit on March 6 and continues on March 7. It is described as “the naughtiest and funniest magic show in the world.”

Two Aussie guys, Mike Tyler and Christopher Wayne, stun audiences with the wildest night you’ve ever seen. They’ve performed in over 250 cities around the world, including TV shows such as America’s Got Talent and Entertainment Tonight.

This R-rated show contains profanity, sexual references and male nudity.  The magic is incredible.  There is a lot of audience participation; actually the whole show was audience participation.

There were card tricks, rope tricks and both Mike and Christopher competing against each other on getting out of a straight-jacket.  There were also musical numbers during the performance such as “Y-M-C-A” and “My Heart Will Go On.”

Their theme is “Good magicians don’t need sleeves and GREAT magicians don’t need pants.”  The top hat was strategically placed at the same time while doing magic.  The concept was unique.

The show lasted a hilarious 90 minutes and is perfect for a “girls night out.”  However, there were lots of men in the audience too.

Performance times for The Naked Magicians appearing March 6 and 7, 2020 at the Music Hall located at 350 Madison Ave. in Detroit are: Friday evening at 7 p.m. and Saturday evening at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Tickets start at $39 (includes facility fee).  They can be purchased online at http://www.broadwayindetroit.com or http://www.ticketmaster.com  or by phone at 800-982-2787.  Tickets may also be purchased at the Music Hall and Fisher Theatre box offices.  So hurry and get your tickets.
