AmericaJR’s Jason Rzucidlo recently went for a road trip along historic Route 66 in Arizona. In this gallery, you’ll see photos from Flagstaff, Arizona. Flagstaff has a strong tourism sector, due to its proximity to Grand Canyon National Park, Oak Creek Canyon, the Arizona Snowbowl, Meteor Crater, and Historic Route 66. Flagstaff’s Santa Fe Railway Depot, built in 1926, is currently an Amtrak station and includes a visitor information office. The Galaxy Diner opened in the 1950s and retained the small-town diner iconography despite popular franchises replacing many restaurants. Lowell Observatory, an astronomical observatory established in Flagstaff in 1894, is one of the oldest observatories in the United States.

Flagstaff, Arizona is about two hours north of Phoenix. It is where Interstates 17 and Interstate 40 intersect. For more info, go to https://www.flagstaffarizona.org/
