SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. ‒  Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions and a pioneer in the collector car industry, will once again bring innovation to the market when it auctions the world’s very first collector car NFTs at the upcoming 2021 Las Vegas Auction, June 17-19, at the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC).

The four NFTs, the first of the series of VIN 001 sales, will feature a select group of vehicles that sold for charity during Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale Auction earlier this year in March. The four vehicles include the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 VIN 001 (Lot #4001), the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX Launch Edition VIN 001 (Lot #4002), the 2021 Ford Bronco 2-Door VIN 001 (Lot #4003) and the 2022 GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 VIN 001 (Lot #4004).

“Barrett-Jackson has blazed the trail in the collector car world for decades, and the roll-out of the first NFTs in our industry is another great example of our team introducing new and exciting ways to engage the hobby,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “In the early 1990s, we were the first collector car auction to offer live online bidding and, in 1997, we were the first collector car auction to be featured on live television. We’re thrilled to now be the first to introduce the expanding and exciting NFT platform to the collector car world.”

The launch of these exclusive NFTs is done in partnership with Motoclub.io and CurrencyWorks, Inc. Motoclub is a digital collectibles marketplace for car enthusiasts who buy and sell automotive memorabilia and provides content and experiences in the form of NFTs. CurrencyWorks, a financial technology blockchain pioneer, NFT and digital payment provider, will provide and operate the curated Motoclub platform for the minting, selling and trading of NFTs.

Along with being the first collector car NFTs, further value-add unique features of the design of these NFTs will be automated usage tracking and license management for the NFT owner, in addition to select content, features and benefits.

The four VIN 001 NFTs will be auctioned off from the block in Las Vegas, with Lots #4001 and #4002 being sold on Friday evening followed by Lots #4003 and #4004 on Saturday evening. Bidders will have their chance at owning a piece of collector car history and may do so live from the LVCC or remotely via online and phone bidding options. Those interested in becoming a bidder may submit their application online at Barrett-Jackson.com/Bid or in person at the auction.
