I feel you creeping, I can see it from my shadow
Wanna jump up in my Lamborghini Gallardo

“Smack That” by Akon, Lyrics by Akon, Eminem, Mike Strange, and Luis Resto

Pontiac, Mich. — The last Gallardo rolled off the line in Bologna in 2015; but the Aventador is a super car worthy of the Lamborghini lineage – Akon is probably driving one on the cliffs of Monte Carlo as you read this.

Motor Bella is an interactive auto show held this year in Pontiac in lieu of the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), largely due to the accursed corona. But I had a blast on the first media day this Tuesday. I really wanted to see the Lamborghini collection as I have been getting into “Smack That” lately. It is such a great song.

I was hoping to see a Gallardo, of course; but seeing the impressively sleek Aventador cured me completely of that desire. It is like thinking you are going to see Miss Michigan, but seeing Marilyn Monroe instead. Sorry, Miss Michigan. I mean, hey, you are kind of hot and all…..

Lamborghini also presented an insanely wonderful SUV called the Urus. It’s a wonderfully bright green — not the putrid pea green my first car was, i.e., a 1975 Pontiac Le Mans. I loved my Le Mans – but for the soupy color. (And, yes, I HATE peas!) Both vehicles can reach 190 mph. Perfect for a Saturday night on Gratiot….

Well, maybe the Autobahn….

Subaru had some nice cars, too. I love it that they named their company after The Pleiades star cluster. Their logo is an artistic rendering of said star cluster.

Ford debuted the new Bronco, complete with an interactive course that guests to the show are welcome to ride in with a professional driver. And, believe me, the course is not for Sunday drivers!

Lastly, GM showed off their Infantry Squad Vehicle (ISV). It fits up to nine soldiers. I told someone from GM I hope they don’t sell it to the Taliban. Better keep it a secret from The Squad.

The autumnal rains washed away the second media day; but Motor Bella is back on for Thursday to everyone! I hope you don’t get followed by a bevy of L.A.P.D. and helicopters if you step into the Bronco! Just make sure the glove does not fit!

Motor Bella is located at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Mich. For tickets and more info, visit www.motorbella.com.
