ROYAL OAK, Mich. – Organizers of the Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats & Eats presented by Flagstar Bank announced today the selection of artists who will be displaying and selling their original works of art at the 25th anniversary event. This year’s festival and art show take place Labor Day weekend, Sept. 2-5 in downtown Royal Oak. Returning this year to sponsor the art show is southeast Michigan’s largest healthcare system, Beaumont Health.
The Beaumont Health Juried Fine Art Show will host top artists from across the nation throughout its more than 125 booths featuring art in a vast selection of styles and mediums, including ceramics, digital art, drawing/pastels, fabric/fiber/leather, glass, graphics/printmaking, jewelry, metal, mixed media 2D and 3D, painting, photography, sculpture and wood. These artists will be competing to win cash awards totaling more than $7,000, including the top three “Best in Show” and “Awards of Excellence” in each of the respective categories mentioned.
“We are excited to welcome many new and returning artists to this year’s Beaumont Health Juried Fine Art Show,” said Shannon Wojtas, Art Director, Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats & Eats. “It’s a very competitive environment with some of the most talented artists from across the country in so many varying categories of art vying for a spot in the show. Each year, Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats & Eats’ Juried Fine Art Show selects the best of the best and it is the reason, among many, that it continues to be one of the first-class shows out of the thousands nationwide for the last 25 years.”
New artists to this year’s festival include: Adam Hoffman (digital art/graphics), of Salt Lake City, Utah whose stunning fractal creations are made using geometry and mathematical equations; Iliyana Skrobanska(fabric/fiber/leather), of Knoxville, Texas, who specializes in unique art pieces made from felt in various styles, including landscapes, animals and more; Angela Welti(jewelry) from Okemos, Michigan, who has been making award-winning jewelry from knots and fiber for more than 40 years; and Julie Roth (painting), a master of oil painting whose work is sure to bewitch all who view it.
Last year’s top three selected artists are all returning, including Robert Walker from Boardman, Ohio, who took First Place Best in Show for his spectacular paintings made with oil or acrylics paints; Jon and Mary Leeof Lewis Center, Ohio, who took home the Second Place award and specializes in fine precious jewelry; and McKenzie Fisk from Dallas, Texas, who took Third Place Best in Show for her art in both oil and digital formats.
Also returning and joining respectfully this year are Rommel Ricaurte (sculpture) and Cory Ricaurte-Whelan(metal) a father and son from Tennessee who are each manning separate booths at the Beaumont Health Fine Art Show this year. The two have been attending Arts, Beats, & Eats for years and Cory, who is now a full-time talented artist, is following in his father’s footsteps of working with metal to create beautiful works of art and go out on his own.
These previously mentioned artists, alongside the many other artists and vendors, are the reason the Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats & Eats’ Juried Fine Art Show sponsored by Beaumont Health has and continues to be one of the first-class shows out of the thousands around the country for the last 25 years.
