Detroit — The GMC Sierra EV is on display at the Detroit Auto Show. Product Specialist David says it is Edition 1 with 400 miles of all electric range.
“The Ultium platform using a Tesla charger with adapter (fast charger) can add up to 100 miles in 10 minutes. A level one charger can take 10 hours. It has the same size battery as the Hummer,” says David.
This model has 450 horsepower and a 785 torque rating. The Sierra EV can go from 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. It has 24-inch wheels and a panoramic sunroof.
“The interior has been completely reimagined with refined materials to emphasize spaciousness and luxury. With a 16.8 inch infotainment touchscreen, which is the largest ever in a Sierra, it offers captivating sights from both inside and outside the cabin. The Sierra EV has Super Cruise with hands-free driver assistance technology on over 400,000 compatible roads in the U.S. and Canada. It has four-wheel steer for tight turns and overall maneuverability,” added David.
“On the outside, the vehicle is equipped with a Multi Pro Midgate which has a capability to step up into the bed or you can sit on it, and it folds up for easy reach into the bed. The truck bed can extend up to 10 feet, 10 inches long when used with a load stop function for large pieces of lumber. GMC led the way with the step-up tailgate. It also has a max towing capacity of 9,500 pounds.”
The Sierra Denali EV Edition 1 will be available in Spring of 2024 and will be built at the Factory Zero plant at the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center. Pricing starts at $107,000 plus destination charges.
