It has been 15 years since Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman came together in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Now, they’re teaming up as Deadpool & Wolverine, which comes out this Friday.
Not only that, The Wolverine was released on July 26, 2013. Based on the 1982 comic book arc, the film finds Logan/Wolverine (Jackman) bearded and grizzled. Haunted by the death of Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) and the events of X-Men: The Last Stand, Logan/Wolverine has isolated himself from the world: living alone in the wilderness. There, he’s found by a mysterious woman who’s been looking for him and wants to take him to Japan at the request of a billionaire whose life Logan/Wolverine saved during World War II.
Now dying, the man offers Logan/Wolverine something that can or cannot be done: the opportunity to become mortal.
However, Logan/Wolverine soon becomes caught in another war in Japan – this time, between the samurai and the yakuza. It’s gonna take everything within him to fight and win not only this battle, but the one that lies within himself.
For 50 years, The Wolverine remains the best at what he does. However, what he does isn’t always very nice – just like Clint Eastwood onscreen.
The Wolverine is the mutant with no name and past: the outsider, the wanderer, the warrior, the lover, the ronin, the proverbial tough-guy loner, the rebel with the gruff exterior, the bad boy with the heart of gold and a strong sense of honor, loyalty, and friendship.
Deadpool & Wolverine is in theaters now.
