Las Vegas — The 2025 NAB Show, also known as the National Association of Broadcasters Show, returned to the Las Vegas Convention Center earlier this week.

All of the big name companies in broadcasting were at the NAB Show: Adobe, Avid, Canon, Chyron, Dejero among hundreds of others. The show took up three halls of the convention center while the Central Hall was under renovations.

Terry Martin from Insta360 told me about their new 360-degree action camera called the X4. It shoots video up to 8K resolution.

“This is the new and improved version over the X3,” Martin explained. “On this one, we’ve added a nice, large, color touchscreen here. I can actually spin around in full 360 on there. You can do 8K up to 30 frames per second and you can also shoot in 5.7K but with this one you can go to 60 frames per second. It’s a very popular model, our top seller. The biggest thing that sets us apart is our software. Whether you are a professional videographer or just getting into it, it’s easy for everyone to get involved.”

Lexar debuted their new professional Go Portable SSD with Hub. It’s a nominee for 2025 NAB Product of the Year award. Here’s Sherry Chiang with more about it.

“This is our new product, we launched it in September of last year,” Chiang said. “It can go up to 2TB. The portable SSD is very tiny. For a lot of content creators, you will need the USB Type C connectors to connect to your lighting or the power bank. We have the extra hub to give you extra Type C connectors. I think the 2TB with the Hub is roughly $300. You can always check the pricing on our website.”

Manny Moreno from SmallRig introduced me to their new battery called the X-Touch Smart Triple-Proof V-Mount X99. It comes with a 2-inch high definition touchscreen and is resilient to water and dust.

“One of the great features of this battery is that it is built to be more rugged, more tough,” Moreno explained. “However, there is extra functions to this battery. One of the things that we like to give to the user is control. We have a new touchscreen so you can swap between ports. The reason that is crucial is when you want to store them or transport them from one location to another, depending on how long these are asleep, they will be discharging. To stop the discharge or the sleep cycle, you can go ahead and turn it off.”

Azhar from GVM, also known as Great Video Maker told me about their new professional LED lights called the All-in-One series. Two versions of the lights were on display including the 500-watt and 700-watt.

“We brought all new products, this is our All-in-One series called AIO,“ Abdulkadir said. “These ones reduce the clumsy ballast and work with just one power cable and you get exceptional power out of it. The same build quality as our pro series, fully aluminum alloy built and bi-color output at 2,700 Kelvin to 6,800 Kelvin. It’s brighter than our pro series of 650 watt but it’s coming at the cheaper price point. You can go with the AIO series for someone who is just starting, a beginner.”

Blackmagic Design premiered their all new advanced digital film camera called the URSA Cinema 17K with 65 mm sensor. It was created for giant IMAX-style screens. Pricing starts at $21,995.

Canon introduced a new optical unit that can be integrated into UHD DigiSuper 122 field box lenses to help create captivating images with a shallow depth of field. The company also displayed their new EOS R50 V camera. It is built for creators with a vertical video tripod mount and front record button.

Sandisk showed off their new Creator series of Solid State Drives. It allows content creators to easily capture, transfer, edit and back up their media.

Neewer showed off an ER1 motorized slider and a 1200-watt bicolor light that can be used in light rain environments.

That’s a wrap from the 2025 NAB Show. Next up: NAB heads to New York City from Oct. 22-23. Then, it will return to Las Vegas in April 2026…
