Ann Arbor, Mich. — The big Ann Arbor Art Fair poster reveal was held inside Knight’s Steakhouse on Liberty Street in Ann Arbor. Three posters were unveiled–one for each art fair (The Original Street Art Fair, Summer Art Fair and the State Street District Art Fair).
There were live artist demonstrations and music by the Homes Trio. I asked about the name “Homes” in Homes Trio, and they said it was an acronym for the Great Lakes. (Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie and Superior). Hmmm, that makes sense.
The Ann Arbor Street Art Fair, The Original poster was painted by Andy Adams. He does acrylic, ink, charcoal, graphite and spray paint on wood and is also a long time exhibitor at the Art Fair.
The Ann Arbor State Street District Art Fair poster was created by Brian Delozier. It depicts the State of Michigan, the energy of downtown Ann Arbor along with incorporating his signature floral motif. I was watching as he was outlining his paining and it looks like delicate work.
The Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair poster was created by Chuck Wimmer, originally from Budapest, Hungary and now lives in Cleveland, Ohio. His theme of the poster is “People Watching” which features birds on a wire that are watching people.
I also talked to Helen Gotlib who does her work by printmaking. She uses a small press to make large prints. I love the way she painted the silver and gold flowers on the print. I also told her the background looked like cement.
The 2025 Ann Arbor Art Fair runs from Thursday, July 17 to Saturday, July 19 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. A shuttle is provided for $8 per person from both the Briarwood Mall and Huron High School.
There will be 1,000 artists from across the country along 30 city blocks. Entertainment will be on three stages throughout the fair. A true celebration of art, music and food. I hope to see you there. I know I will be.
