Born and raised in the Motor City Detroit, Garrett Edward Godwin joined AmericaJR.com in May 2007: contributing and covering everything from movie reviews to the North American International Auto Show to AutoRama. He’s also been contributing to The Student Operated Press (SOP – www.thesop.org) and Newsblaze (NB – www.newsblaze.com) with Judyth Piazza and Alan Gray, where Garrett had his own Inter-tainment show called ‘Go Now’, as well as his own column entitled ‘What’s on Tonight?’
Since the summer of 2009, Garrett continues to find his niche as ‘Detroit Pop Culture Examiner’ for Examiner.com: writing everything from superheroes Batman & Superman to Iron Man & Captain America.
In his downtime, Garrett likes to collect comic books and watch reruns/DVDs of classic pulp heroes The Lone Ranger and Zorro, as well as DVDs of popular fan favorite shows such as The Dukes of Hazzard, Knight Rider, The A-Team, and The Equalizer.
