On Sundays next month, Queen Latifah will equalize both corruption and injustice as The Equalizer, who is both “neighborhood watch” and “the one to call when you can’t call 911”.

A reboot of the spy/detective series that aired on CBS from 1985 to 1989, the series centers on Robyn McCall (Latifah), a former Company operative who decides to use her covert skills to help people who can’t help themselves.  A single mother to a teenage daughter, Robyn sets out to even the odds for those who have nowhere else to turn to for help while also seeking redemption for her sins.  With a new purpose, Robyn McCall is reborn as the avenging angel known as the Equalizer.

The Equalizer was first preceded by Golden Globe winner and Emmy nominee Edward Woodward as Robert McCall, who left the Company business to set up his own business of helping the helpless.  It was then adapted onto the big-screen in two hit films from director Antoine Fuqua with Oscar winner Denzel Washington as McCall, a man on fire for justice as a knight in shining armor.

Co-starring Chris Noth, Adam Goldberg, Liza Lapira and Lorraine Toussaint, The Equalizer will premiere after the Super Bowl on February 7.
