PREVIEW: 2015 Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival returns to Lake Skinner

WINCHESTER, Calif. — The 2015 Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival returns to the Lake Skinner recreation area on the weekend of May 29 – 31. Colorful hot air balloons will be launched on Saturday and Sunday beginning at 6:30 a.m. and will return to the ground two hours later. Balloon glows will light up the night on Friday evening and Saturday evening after sundown.

This year’s entertainment line-up is spectacular. Country music is being offered on Friday and on Sunday with pop/rock happening on Saturday. Gloriana, Love and Theft, Chase Bryant and the Kanan Road Band will entertain audiences on Friday night, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Daughtry, the Plain White T’s, John Waite and Taylor Carroll will perform on Saturday evening, beginning at 4 p.m. Chris Young, Cam and the Scotty Mac Band will entertain crowds on Sunday afternoon, beginning at 1 p.m. That’s just on the main stage.

“Our goal has been to improve the guest experience and our Country Friday has been extremely popular,” stated 2015 Festival Chairman and CEO Scott Vinton. “We are proud to bring a country act as popular as Chris Young to the community. We hit the bull’s eye dead center with this,” he added.

Some of the best wineries in southern California will be on hand for the Balloon and Wine Festival this year. Beach House Winery, Briar Rose Winery, Canyon Crest Winery, Casa Tiene Vista Vineyard, Coyote Oaks Vineyards, Curry Vineyards & Winery, Emerald Creek Winery and Europe Village, make up some of those who will be on site. Others will include the Frangipani Estate Wienry, Lorenzi Estates Wines, Lorimar Vineyards and Winery, Mahogany Mountain Vineyard & Winery, Maurice Car’rie Winery, Monte de Oro Winery, Thornton Winery, Van Roekel, Wiens Family Cellars and the Wilson Creek Winery & Vineyards.

A few layout changes have been announced for this year: Overflow camping has been moved to the area that has been used as overflow parking during busy Saturday afternoons. Additionally the Festival management team is staggering event and concert start times. This will result in having events like the  evening balloon glow and main headliner concert  start and  conclude at distinctly different times.

General admission tickets for adults are $25 on Friday, $30 on Saturday and $20 on Sunday. Youth (6-12) are $5 and children five and under are FREE each day. Weekend combo tickets for all three days are $50 each. Discount tickets are available at CVS and Albertson’s stores in Hemet, Murrieta, Corona, Winchester, Temecula, San Jacinto and Lake Elsinore.
