LOS ANGELES — ArcLight Cinemas, a premiere movie-going destination is excited to announce the launch of the inaugural ArcLight Presents Women in Entertainment Summit, ArcLight’s first foray into live programming. The event will take place at the Hollywood Dome on November 5th, 2015. ArcLight Presents Women in Entertainment will be hosted by ArcLight’s Executive Vice President Gretchen McCourt and feature keynotes by critically-acclaimed actress Geena Davis, founder of the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media and Women In Film President Cathy Schulman.
Imagined by ArcLight Cinemas, ArcLight Presents Women In Entertainment will bring together forward-thinkers from all areas of the entertainment industry, exploring a variety of topics that greatly impact women: from human rights and women’s leadership to storytelling across platforms and empowering the next generation of women to emerge as creative powerhouses.
“As women, our leadership roles keep expanding and with them the challenges we face in the entertainment industry. We are thrilled to get involved in changing the face of entertainment by cultivating these discussions,” states Gretchen McCourt.
This incredible event will be housed in ArcLight’s iconic Cinerama Dome, designed to spark a broader, more transparent dialog that focuses on current and emerging topics with analysis and depth that has not yet been explored by a dedicated program. Together we seek to find creative answers to the challenges they face as women in the entertainment industry.
“We’re excited to partner with ArcLight on this initiative. The only way to create change is to have key entertainment industry decision makers take the lead by driving opportunities for women on-screen and behind the scenes,” explains Geena Davis.
The event will provide a comfortable setting to gather friends of ArcLight and those women and men that are leaders in all fields of entertainment from film and television to sports, marketing, fashion and music, who collectively believe and are dedicated to the advancement of women.
