Paint Creek Center for the Arts 52nd Art & Apples Festival Returns Sept. 8-10

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Art & Apples Festival, the largest annual fundraiser for and produced by Paint Creek Center for the Arts (PCCA), returns to the Rochester Municipal Park (400 Sixth St.) in downtown Rochester, Mich., Sept. 8-10, 2017. Joining the signature event, which transforms the 30-acre park into one of the nation’s top fine art festivals, is Genisys Credit Union as presenting sponsor. Now in its 52nd year, festival organizers are adding new features to commemorate the City of Rochester’s 200th anniversary, including a monster mural for kids to help create during the three-day festival.

“We are honored to join this premier event, which continues to enhance life in the region by showcasing the incredible and diverse work of the best artists from across the country,” said Jackie Buchanan, president and CEO, Genisys Credit Union. “Art & Apples Festival is in keeping with our commitment to making a difference in the local communities where we do business. We appreciate PCCA’s dedication to promoting the arts and artistic excellence and the positive economic impact the festival generates on the greater Rochester community.”

Consistently ranked as one of the top juried fine art fairs in the country, the 2017 Art & Apples Festival will feature nearly 300 artists from across the nation displaying and selling their work. New and returning artists will showcase fine art in a variety of mediums, including ceramics, digital art, drawing, fabric/fiber/leather, glass, printmaking, jewelry, metal, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture, and wood.

“Attendees of Art & Apples Festival will appreciate the quality and scope of artists in our lineup, which boasts more diverse and spectacular artwork than ever to enhance the festival’s variety,” said Tami Salisbury, executive director of Paint Creek Center for the Arts. “As a premier event for the City of Rochester, this year’s much-anticipated Art & Apples Festival is especially meaningful, as we are proud to do our part to attract thousands of visitors to this beautiful and historic community, now in its golden bicentennial celebratory year.”

In addition to art, live entertainment, children’s activities, a variety of food offerings and interactive exhibits await festivalgoers and art enthusiasts expected to be in attendance. An abundance of fresh apple treats, such as strudel, streusel and caramel apples, also will be available, offering something for the whole family to enjoy.

The Meijer Kids Art Zone returns to offer a weekend of activities, creativity and exploration for children of all ages. As part of PCCA’s commitment to fostering the arts in the region, the Kids Art Zone is free for festival patrons to enjoy thanks to the generous support of returning sponsor Meijer.
