Review: “Christmas Wonderland” is a big hit at the Fisher Theatre in Detroit

DETROIT — Santa Claus has come to Detroit with “Christmas Wonderland” playing at the Fisher Theatre for nine shows only beginning December 12-17, 2017.  This holiday spectacular features chorus girls, a journey through Santa’s Workshop with his merry helpers and a trip through a winter wonderland of magic.  The scenery and glittery costumes highlights the wonder of Christmas and puts you in the Christmas spirit.

There is a cast of 24 singers and dancers that were hand-selected from London, New York, Las Vegas and Los Angeles to entertain the audience.  My favorite scene was the ice skating in Rockefeller Centre, while singers sang “Hallejuhia”.  After that they sang my favorite song, “Mary Did You Know”.

Another segment was a challenge to sing 25 Christmas songs in two minutes.  And, as you probably have guessed, they did it in perfect harmony.  The classic holiday songs included “Chestnuts roasting by an open fire”, “O Holy Night”, “I’ll Be Home For Christmas”,  “Silent Night” and “Jingle Bells”, just to name a few. Near the end of the performance, there was a tribute to the troops as they sang “God Bless the USA”.

“Christmas Wonderland” is produced by Spirit Productions and David King, a multi award-winning and internationally acclaimed theater producer.  There was a 15-minute intermission between the two acts.  This Christmas performance is fabulous as I would definitely recommend it.
