Timeless Tuesday: The 10-year anniversary of TNT’s ‘Leverage’

It's been 10 years or a decade since TNT's "Leverage" premiered

Get ready to get even

Let’s go steal the 10-year anniversary of Leverage, which premiered on TNT in December 2008.  A mixture of The A-Team, The Dukes of HazzardMission: Impossible, andOcean’s Eleven, this cool crime comedy-drama caper lasted five seasons with Oscar winner Timothy Hutton (Ordinary People) as Nathan “Nate” Ford.  Once a honest man in a dishonest man, this former insurance investigator is the mastermind behind a team of criminals: genius hacker Alec Hardison (Aldis Hodge), mercenary/”hitter” Eliot Spencer (Christian Kane), quirky and eccentric thief Parker (Beth Riesgraf), and seductive grifter Sophie Devereaux (Gina Bellman).

As “Leverage Consulting & Associates”, they’re in the business of the 3 Rs: revenge, restitution and retribution.  The rich and powerful take what they want from whomever they want.  Why?  Because they have the money and resources to do so.  And that is where the Leverage crew comes in: they steal it back as modern-day Robin Hoods for the victimized and helpless.  Picking up where the law left off, they unleashed their own brand of justice against the greedy and corrupt.

Winner of the 2013 People’s Choice Award for “Favorite Cable TV Drama”, Leverage remains a fan favorite thanks to reruns in syndication (episodes can be found on ION Television with a four-hour morning block airing every Monday thru Thursday).

After 10 years, only one thing remains when it comes to Leverage: sometimes bad guys makes the best good guys.
