65 Global Startups Set to Share Mobility Innovations at 2019 AutoMobili-D in Detroit

DETROIT — The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), in partnership with Techstars Mobility, announced today that 65 startups from 10 countries will showcase their innovative mobility-focused products and technologies at the 3rd annual AutoMobili-D exposition, Jan. 14 – 17. 

AutoMobili-D is a 150,000 square-foot exhibition featuring a wide range of automakers, suppliers, investors and tech startups demonstrating and discussing future mobility platforms.  The Michigan Economic Development Corporation and PlanetM (MEDC/PlanetM) is the Title Sponsor of AutoMobili-D and Co-Presenting Sponsor of AutoMobili-D’s FACE and Match Meeting Programs. 

“Each year AutoMobili-D has built upon the prior year’s success with growing startup participation,” said 2019 NAIAS Chairman Bill Golling.  “In fact, we’ll see a 20 percent increase in participation at the upcoming show with startups encompassing a wide range of technologies and businesses – from autonomous and connected cars to mapping and journey planning to ride sharing and smart cities.”

  • Collectively, the startups employ over 872 worldwide         

“The startup area has grown by 59 percent since it began in 2017,” said Techstars Mobility Manager Ted Serbinski.  “Startups understand that every key decision in automotive and supplier strategy eventually goes through Detroit, where the future of mobility is as strong as ever.  AutoMobili-D has been a key player in this process.”

  • 14bis Supply Tracking — Houston, TX, United States: Proprietary middleware provides systems interoperability and full asset traceability with real-time awareness for supply chains of trust.  We track physical or digital assets providing on-demand auditability. 
  • Advanced Connected Vehicle Solutions — Farmington Hills, MI, United States:  ACVS provides software solutions for securely connecting vehicles to cloud services.  Our modular telematics client software supports needs such as remote operations, FOTA, and diagnostics.  The client is code generated from our IoT Workbench tool providing complete API documentation and simulation.
  • Aimotive — Budapest, Hungary: Aimotive provides artificial intelligence-based software solutions for self-driving cars to global carmakers and Tier 1s. Our product suite includes artificial intelligence-based perception algorithms, state-of-the-art simulation and Neural Network acceleration technology.
  • Airspace Experience Technologies — Detroit, MI, United States: We enable private air mobility for the mass traveling public.
  • Alchemy — Kitchener, ON, Canada: We are a nanotechnology startup pioneering two nanocoatings: a passive anti-frost coating and an abrasion resistant coating.   • Derq — Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Derq is a MIT-spinoff and Techstars mobility alum with a mission to eliminate crashes.
