INDIAN SPRINGS, Nev. — Listen up Big Boy fans! Iconic Southern California restaurant Bob’s Big Boy is returning to the Las Vegas area. The new restaurant will be located inside the newly completed Terrible’s Casino off of Highway 95 in Indian Springs, Nev.
“Last week, we made Big Boy a global icon and I could not be more excited and proud to announce, yet another, expansion of our brand here in America!” Says Tamer Afr, CEO, Big Boy. “We are proud to have partnered with such a strong brand in Terrible Herbst and excited for them join us in expanding the brand not only in Indian Springs, but across Nevada. This continued expansion continues to show the strength of our brand and the emotional connection that so many have with Big Boy continues to allow that growth to happen. As I said before, get ready because we are ready to bring Big Boy to every state and once again, be the gold standard.”
A little bit of history: Bob Wian opened The first Bob’s Big Boy in 1936 in Glendale, Calif. At its peak in 1989, there were 240 Bob’s locations in the United States.
As of 2019, there are only five Bob’s Big Boy locations remaining in Southern California. The Burbank restaurant on Riverside Drive is a protected historic landmark. It is popular with celebrities living in the Hollywood Hills such as Jay Leno.
Bob’s Big Boy is best known for its double decker hamburgers, fries and thick milkshakes. Did you know? A Bob’s Big Boy sandwich features red relish whereas a Big Boy sandwich in Michigan comes with thousand island dressing.
The new restaurant in Indian Springs will be located inside the newly built Terrible’s Casino. Bob’s will take up 4,598 square feet of space of the 17,300 square foot building. It will have enough room for 178 people to dine inside.
This restaurant will be a little different than the standalone Bob’s Big Boy restaurants we’ve seen before. It won’t feature the iconic architecture on the exterior but it should have its retro design on the inside
“All of us at Terrible’s are beyond excited to announce our partnership with the iconic brand, Big Boy!” Says Matt Osa, Executive Vice President of Operations, Terrible Herbst Inc. “Terrible Herbst has always been an organization that truly values our team members, the communities in which we serve and the ability to bring a ‘deliberately different’ experience to our customers. The expansion of Big Boy in Southern Nevada, which begins with the Indian Springs location, is going to be a game-changer for this community and we couldn’t be happier to see this vision come to life!”
Terrible’s Indian Springs opened its doors for the first time on July 10, 2020. Construction of the new Bob’s Big Boy was delayed slightly due to COVID-19. However, it should open for business by November.
The new Bob’s Big Boy is located at 230 N. Hwy. 95 Indian Springs, NV 89018.
