Detroit — Let your journey begin with the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Willys 4xe.  With its 17-inch black aluminum wheels and 32-inch Firestone mud-terrain tires providing great off-road traction, it is one rugged vehicle.

I spoke with Jim Morrison, president of Jeep North America who announced the Jeep Wrangler Willys 4xe was revealed today at the Detroit Auto Show.

“The 4xe offers 21 miles of all electric range.”  If you have a full tank of gas and a full battery charge, you will have a range of 370 miles total.  “The fuel economy is rated at 49 MPGe and takes two hours on a 240-volt cord and 12 hours on a 120-volt cord to charge up,” added Morrison.

The eSave mode prioritizes the 2.0-liter engine even more.  This saves the battery charge for later use.  When power demand is low, the engine shuts off.  This choice is located on the dash wall under the Jeep’s E-Selec driving mode panel.

“The Wrangler 4xe’s powertrain has a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and provides 375 horsepower.  “It’s always on four wheel drive.  It has a lifted suspension that has 10 inches of ground clearance,” says Morrison.  Other features include LED headlamps and fog lamps, all weather floor mats, rock rails and a nine-speaker Alpine audio system.

I asked who would buy this vehicle?  Morrison replied, “Someone who loves the outdoors, a person who likes to show off going green, and someone who wants to have fun.”

“Pricing on the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Willys 4xe is $54,000 before government rebates.  This vehicle is on sale now,” added Morrison.

The 2022 North American International Auto Show opens to the public on Saturday, Sept. 17 and runs through Sunday, Sept. 25. For tickets and more info, go to www.naias.com.
