SAE International’s WCX™ World Congress Experience Navigates the Many Shifts in Mobility Transportation

Industry Leaders to Address Trends and Issues at the Forefront of Mobility Advancement 


WARRENDALE, Pa.– SAE International, the mobility industry leader in connecting and educating engineers, will host WCX™ World Congress Experience, April 18-20, 2023, at Huntington Place in Detroit.  SAE’s WCX brings industry experts together under one roof to discuss the latest technical advancements and regulations, as well as consumer expectations impacting the mobility industry today and in the future.

Throughout the three days, WCX attendees have access to the entire mobility engineering ecosystem – from the engineers doing the work to executives making the decisions on vehicle development – WCX discusses why technologies go into the vehicle, and the how it is getting engineered.

WCX’s Technical Sessions focus on mobility technology that is bumper-to-bumper and bits-to-bytes, including:

  • Energy Infrastructure and EVs – Executives from General Motors, the U.S. Department of Energy, Rivian, ABB E-Mobility and ChargePoint will discuss smart, effective charging strategies;

  • Smart City – Safety, ADAS & Autonomy – Multiple discussions around producing vehicles today and in the future;
  • Diversity Leading Innovation in Mobility – Industry leaders from Stellantis, Caterpillar, Harley Davidson, LG Energy and Toyota will share insight on how to inspire innovation across industry sectors; and
  • A Low Carbon Vehicle Future? – How does the industry meet consumer expectations while being profitable and viewed as truly sustainable? Executives from Stellantis, Toyota, Hyundai-Kia America will share their insight on the topic.


The Leadership Summit is a series of roundtable discussions such as technology development, consumer acceptance, regulation and their impact on vehicle design and development by technical executives in the mobility ecosystem.

Keynote speakers Dipti Vachani, Senior Vice President & General Manager, Automotive Line of Business, Arm Limited, and Dr. Kelly Senecal, Co-Founder and Owner, Convergent Science, will challenge thinking on mobility by discussing two of the biggest issues facing industry

  • What is the impact of Software Defined Vehicles?
  • What is the impact on new regulations and advances in propulsion technology?

In addition, more than 70 exhibitors will join Learning Lab and SAE EDGE™ Research Reports’ Knowledge Bar experts sharing insight on the WCX Exhibit Floor.
