One morning, my husband and me decided to travel downtown to try this new cafe for breakfast. The Hudson Cafe is located at 1241 Woodward Ave., between Grand River and Gratiot/State Streets. This place recently opened a few months ago and is very modern and stylish inside. With the light wood floors, the stone fireplace, flat screen tv and sitting area, and the Cafe bar and carryout, you will feel very comfortable eating here.

We ordered the create your own omelet, with the house made potatoes and sour dough bread toast. It was fabulous and prepared to perfection with an ample portion supply. They have a huge menu of breakfast foods from an assortment of specialty pancakes such as red velvet pancakes with cream cheese drizzle and dusted with cocoa powder.

They offer very berry stuffed french toast which is stuffed with banana cream cheese, topped with fresh berries and berries compote. Also one of their favorites is the voodoo eggs benedict which is a house made corn cake, chorizo, cheddar and ranchero sauce, just to name a few. Their breakfast menu is enormous and they also serve lunch with soup, sandwiches and salads.

Their prices range from $7 beginning with their pancakes, and $11 for their omelets, however their seafood omelet has the highest price of $14.

I think their menu prices is a little bit pricey, but the presentation and selection is superb and well worth the trip.

The waiter was most gracious and catered to our every need. How nice it was to be treated so well.

The hours of operation is 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. However, during special events like the Lions/Tigers games, festivals, parades and other events, they have extended hours.

I would definitely recommend this place for a great breakfast and would definitely stop by again. Next time you are downtown, why not give it a try.
