LOS
ANGELES -- An
evening with Michael Bublé, and what an evening it was.
He couldn't have been more gracious and humble, as he spoke about
his successful NBC holiday special. Also on the panel were his
creative team behind the holiday special Bruce Allen, (Executive
Producer and Bublé's manager), Brad Lachman (Executive
Producer), Bill Bracken (Producer), and Paul Telegdy, (NBC's President
of Late Night). Terri Seymour, a correspondent for "EXTRA,"
also moderated the panel discussion.
These
Television Academy members spoke about how they put together their
Michael Bublé's holiday special, and how it was easier
the second time around. They also discussed how the atmosphere
was different because it was filmed in Canada, where Bublé
was born.
Bublé
touched upon how the holidays are very important to him and his
family. It was a Christmas song where Bublé realized he
wanted to be a singer, and it all started with Bing Crosby's "White
Christmas."
Bublé
performed "White Christmas" on his holiday special with
Crosby, sort of, thanks to technology. It took the creative team
two months to edit and get it ready for air. Crosby did a holiday
special in 1971. Bublé was digitally added next to him
for the special. It was really well done.
The
holiday special was such a success that it aired three times during
the holidays of 2012. Also it's confirmed they will be doing a
third special, so make sure to tune in to that during the holidays.
Bublé
closed the night by performing three songs "Who's Loving
You," "Young at Heart," and "To Love Somebody."
They are all songs off his newly released album, To Be Loved.
Look for it in stores nationwide and on iTunes.
