PHOTOS: 2012 Route 66 International Festival in Victorville, Calif.

Melba Rigg owns the Tow Tater truck, which was the inspiration for Tow Mater in the "Cars" movies.

Dan Rice is President of the Route 66 Association.

The Novi, Mich. native also owns and operates 66 to Cali, a gift shop on the Santa Monica Pier.

Jerry McClanahan is the author of EZ66 Guide for Travelers.

McClanahan said it is hard to keep his guide book up to date because of new traffic circles being constructed along Route 66 and Interstate 40.

Minutes later, Rigg addressed the crowd with her story.
