Honda Senior Managing Director Masaaki Kato opens the 2009 SAE World Congress.

Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm greets Masaaki Kato.

Granholm talked about the new Michigan-based battery plants that were recently announced.

Granholm said that Obama is practicing "tough love" with the auto industry.
