Serman's
Clothing opened for business in 1917 on the edge
of Greektown.

Throughout
its 96-year history, it served famous people like
singer Marvin Gaye, boxing trainer Emanuel Stewart,
actor Cesar Romero, comedian steve Harvey and
rapper Flavor Flav, among many others.

Businessman
Dan Gilbert purchased the two-level, 12,800-square-foot
building in June.

price tag of $3 million.

In
its prime years, the theatre hosted performances of bands led by
John Philip Sousa, Benny Goodman, Jimmy Dorsey and Harry James as
well as live performances by The Marx Brothers, Betty Grable and
Bob Hope. However, it was being used as a parking garage in recent
years.
