DETROIT – The 2016 MotorCity Automotive Industry Night (MAIN) Event celebrates the launch of the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) festivities on Sunday Jan. 10 at Orchestra Hall/Max M. Fisher Music Center (3711 Woodward Ave., Detroit, MI 48201). This reservation-required event, recognizes and honors automotive industry executives, showcases the next generation design graduates, and features a live fashion show directed by Detroit Fashion Week and the Michigan Garment Council. Special thanks to The Ford Motor Company, Polaris, Inteva Products, Lawrence Technological University, and Pure Michigan.
The MAIN Event Design Awards have become a coveted symbol of achievement. Featured this year is executive Peter Schreyer, President and Chief Design Officer of Hyundai Motor Group, widely known for his design contribution to a European luxury brand. Also awarded will be multi-industry innovator Daniel Simon, former senior designer at Bugatti and Volkswagen, whose clients now include Warner Bros., Universal, Disney, Lotus, and SpaceX. He is acclaimed for creating iconic fantasy vehicles for Hollywood blockbuster films such as Tron: Legacy, Captain America: The First Avenger, Prometheus, and Oblivion.
Welcome and networking begins at 6pm, immediately followed by Executive/Designer Awards & presentations, strolling dinner, fashion showcase, and afterglow reception. Registration is gratis, but required – go to ‘mainevent20.com’ for details.
