AmericaJR.com was the first to announce the Chevrolet Spark EV would be at the L.A. Auto Show on Nov. 10, 2012.

The Spark EV would be the first all-electric passenger car marketed by General Motors in the U.S. since the EV1 was discontinued in 2003.

The electric car will be powered by a nanophosphate lithium-ion battery pack supplied by A123 Systems, and a electric motor.

The Spark EV can be fully charged to 80 percent in 20 minutes using a DC fast charge or about seven hours with a 240-volt cord.

It will produce a peak power of 114 horsepower and sustained power of 75 hp.
