Futuristic
technology to be unveiled at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show
By Jason Rzucidlo
Google has spent the last three years and $2 million in testing
autonomous vehicles -- automobiles that can drive entirely
on their own. In September, California Gov. Jerry Brown signed
legislation approving the use of these vehicles on roads throughout
the state. Why? Autonomous vehicles are expected to be safer
than those currently being driven by humans. Although we probably
won't see any of these type of cars at the 2012 Los Angeles
Auto Show, we are expecting to see the technology behind them
on prominent display. [10.22.12] |

Design Studios Envision Law Enforcement's Road Ahead
The pace of change in society accelerates every year, with
breakthrough technologies and rapidly developing countries
constantly rewriting the rules in a global economy. How this
translates into life on the road for the general public is
open to interpretation, but for law enforcement, it is a mission-critical
assignment. To better patrol our roads and effectively "protect
and serve," the future highway patrol vehicle will have
to be designed with an entirely new set of considerations,
including advanced powertrains, alternative fuels, telemetrics
and new sizes to effectively navigate dynamic urban environments.

Mustangs
from the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show By

While
there is no big news or announcements from Ford for Mustang
fans at this year’s LA Auto Show, there were of course
Mustangs at the show. Steve Saleen did announce the S351 Mustang,
and there were lots of Ford big wigs at the show. But the
emphasis from Ford was on smaller, more fuel efficient cars,
like the Focus, Fiesta and C-Max. Of course Ford had a Mustang
alley lined with the usual suspects and engines on stands.
And the Mustangs continues to be a popular choice of custom
booths. Fresh from the SEMA show was the 2013 Ford Mustang

Toyota
honored as 2012 Nielsen Green Marketer of the Year at L.A.
Auto Show By Jason Rzucidlo
Toyota
received the first award on the second media day of the 2012
Los Angeles Auto Show. Nielsen awarded the 3rd Annual Green
Marketer of the Year award to the Japanese automaker. Those
are the same folks who measure TV viewing habits of Americans.
However, this award was based on three pillars: a cross-media
survey of 2,600 consumers, TV ad effectiveness from a panel
of more than six million and a sentiment analysis from over
115,000 social media messages. One
in four consumers said ads for Green technology have increased
their purchase considerations, according to the Nielsen Automotive
study. [12.13.12]
