LOS
ANGELES -- Mazda has a lot riding on this model. The midsize
sedan segment, is the American new car market. Mazda has stiff competition
with the Toyota Camry, Hyundai, Honda and Nissan.
Since
2010, Mazda split their partnership with Ford after 30 years. Ford
did help Mazda get back on their feet, however Mazda wasn't in total
control of the creative process. Therefore, Mazda decided to pursure
its own destiny. With that said, there is no room for error.
Mazda6
made the most of Mazda's SKYACTIV suite of fuel saving technologies,
which is only the second design.
With the
Mazda6, you have a choice of different four-cylinder engine varaints,
a 2.0-liter gas, a 2.2-liter turbodiesel, and a 2.5-liter gas model.
Also there is a choice of six-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
When the
Mazda6 is released in January 2013, the 2.5-liter engine will produce
189 horsepower. It will go from zero to 60mph in 7.6 seconds.
Mazda6 body
is well designed, it's sharp, as for the interior design as well.
It comfortably seats five people with enough leg room for everyone.
"It
drives well, looks fantastic and returns significantly better fuel
economy while being faster," according to Edmunds.com.
