LOS
ANGELES -- Last
year, Chrysler didn't even have a press conference at the Los
Angeles Auto Show. Fast forward to this year and the automaker
showed off three model luxury sedans to the media.
The
2015 Chrysler 300 comes with a bolder front grille, signature
LED lighting and new wheel designs. Meanwhile, the 300S or sport
model features a hyper black finish wheels, more sculpted side
sills, unique deck-lid spoiler, sport mode and paddle-shifting
capabilities. Finally, the 300C Platinum comes with Nappa leather,
hand-sanded wood, leather-wrapped instrument panel and console
plus platinum-chrome exterior details. Chrysler said the three
new models were inspired by the historic 1955 and 2005 Chrysler
300s.
"We
built the segment's most technologically advanced sedan in a class
dominated by vehicles costing thousands more," said Al Gardner,
president and CEO of the Chrysler brand. "Please welcome
the return of the big, bold and proudly American icon of the Chrysler
brand, the newly redesigned 2015 Chrysler 300. With its world
class quality materials, our new large rear-wheel drive sedan
represents the essence of the Chrysler brand. You're looking at
the confident, new face of Chrysler. Expect to see this strong
brand cue on all Chryslers moving forward."
The
new 300s come with two engine choices: A 3.6-liter, Pentastar
engine producing 292 horsepower and 25 mpg highway or a 5.7-liter,
HEMI V8 engine producing 363 horsepower and 31 mpg on the highway.
Interior
material choices were inspired by four American cities. The black
leather interiors in every 2015 Chrysler 300 were inspired by
the high fashion and rock 'n' roll edge of Fifth Avenue in New
York City. The two-tone Indigo/linen interior on the 300C Platinum
was inspired by La Jolla, Calif.'s ocean views, sandy expandes
and unexpected coves. The black with Ambassador Blue Nappa leather
and silver accent stitching on the Chrysler 300S was inspired
by the tenacious spirit of Detroit. Finally, the two-tone linen
and black interior on the Chrysler 300 Limited and 300C were inspired
by the city of Sausalito, Calif.
"The
new 300S was developed for the customer looking to strike the
balance of styling and refinement," Gardner added. "This
is the most athletic S we've ever built. As you may have guessed,
the 300S is specifically designed for those of us who are young
of age or at least young at heart. For that reason, this car is
built for those of us who dream of the open road. To prove we
mean business, the 300S comes standard with 20-inch hyper black
aluminum wheels and all-season performance tires."
Pricing
for the 300 Limited starts at $31,395 before a $995 destination
fee, $34,895 for the 300S or sport model, $37,895 for the 300C
model and $42,395 for the top of the line, 300C Platinum model.
