A Proud Tradition: the Lafayette High School Band has existed since the opening of the school in 1939 - over 70 years of music excellence.

Band is a year round, co-curricular activity for every participating student. In addition to the marching band, students participate in concert bands, jazz band, and community orchestras.

The Lafayette Band consistently receives top honors in regional, state, and national competitions and exhibitions, and participates in a wide array of community events.

The Lafayette Marching Band has had the distinct honor of escorting Santa on two different occasions in the world-famous Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

The Los Angeles Unified School District All City Honor Marching Band

The reason why the All City Band is a constant in the Rose Parade is because it does not sound like all of the other bands. It is a favorite of the Tournament of Roses Committee because of this uniqueness.
