ANGELES -- Who
says running can't be fun? "If life hands you color, RUN
with it." The time has come for the city of Los Angeles,
The Color Run took place on Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Dodger Stadium.
This isn't your ordinary running event, you are constantly having
a blast with your friends, making new friends, enjoying yourselves
run…through color. Yes, that's right, you are showered with
colors: blue, pink, yellow, and orange.
As
the participants reach each kilometer, volunteers and staff poured
colors all over you. By the end of the run, there is even more
color thrown on with a color throwing extravaganza! All products
are 100 percent natural and safe, and it's even edible.
The
Color Run first started in Phoenix in Jan. 2012. It's only been
a year, but its getting a lot of buzz, it has well over 835,000
followers. Travis Snyder is the Founder and Executive Director
of Color Run, and also a an avid triathlete. He wanted to create
a fun and joyful event, but also nonthreatening running environment
where professional and any kind of runner can come together and
enjoy themselves, than the Color Run was born.
"Seeing
how happy The Color Run™ has made all different kinds of
people has been very rewarding," Snyder explained. "It
really is an event for all fitness levels, ages and backgrounds.
Our tag line is 'The happiest 5k on the planet' for a reason.
That line was created after seeing how happy it made people."
In
2012, The Color Run tour went to 50 cities nationally and three
internationally with 600,000 participants. Given the positive
feedback, and great amount of success The Color Run, they will
be touring 100 cities, with a predicted one million participants.
"The
demand has been crazy and exciting," he added. "Everyday
hundreds of people make requests on our Facebook page for us to
bring the event to their favorite city. We’re excited to
answer the call!”

Color Run™ event pretty much has TWO SIMPLE rules: 1) White
shirts (any mostly white T will work great) mandatory at the start
line.
