The
College of Communication Arts & Sciences at Michigan State University,
established in 1955, was the first such college in the country.
Today, with over 3,000 students, it is one of the largest and most
respected. It houses the MSU School of Journalism.

Biology is the scientific study of plants, algae, fungi, and bacteria
– basically all living organisms except animals. Green plants
and algae provide the photosynthetic energy for fueling all other
life on Earth and drive global water and carbon cycles. Fungi and
bacteria are the fundamental recyclers of the Earth.

The Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine
was founded in 1910 and awards about 100 DVM degrees each year.
It is the only veterinary college in Michigan.

Michigan State University (MSU) is a co-educational
public research university in East Lansing, Michigan USA.
Founded in 1855, it was the pioneer land-grant institution
and served as a model for future land-grant colleges in the
United States under the 1862 Morrill Act. Its alumni include
at least five winners of the Pulitzer Prize and more Rhodes
Scholars than any other university in the Big Ten. MSU pioneered
the studies of packaging, hospitality business, telecommunication,
and music therapy. Today its study-abroad program is the largest
of any single-campus university in the country, offering more
than 200 programs in more than 60 countries on all continents
including Antarctica.
