$260 Million Expansion Continues at Cobo

A 25,000 gross square foot addition is being constructed to the rear of Wayne Hall.

In addition, the reinvention of Cobo Arena as a 40,000-square foot ballroom with meeting, pre-function and back-of-house spaces is also underway. A glass wall and open-air terrance will face Hart Plaza when complete.

These are the steel girders that will serve as the frame for the addition to Cobo Center.

It should be completed by November 2011 for use during the 2012 North American International Auto Show.

For those who attended the auto show last year, the new space will be added to the area next to where Toyota displayed its vehicles on the main show floor.
