The Lafayette Building is located at 144 W. Lafayette Blvd. in Detroit.

The 14-floor building was constructed in 1923.

Demolition of the Lafayette Building began in August 2009.

The Lafayette Building was designed by C. Howard Crane, who built many of Detroit's theaters.

The building is made of brick, limestone and terra cotta.
