'Roar
in the Shore' set for Wednesday, April 9

LONG
BEACH, Calif. -- The Belmont Shore Business Association
(BSBA) has partnered with the Grand Prix Association of
Long Beach and Legends Sports Bar to sponsor the 3rd Annual
“Roar in the Shore” event, set to take place
Wednesday, April 9 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Belmont Shore.
The
event, which will be staged on 2nd Street between Corona
& Covina on the north & south side of the streets,
is FREE to the public and kicks off the April 11-13 Toyota
Grand Prix of Long Beach race weekend.
Among
the many activities for fans to enjoy: a racing simulator
located on the south side of Covina & 2nd streets;
race and sports cars on display, driver autographs and
NEW this year is a motorcycle stunt show by Tony Carbajal.
The
race cars on display will include several from two divisions
of the new TUDOR United SportsCar Championship: the #07
Prototype (P) Mazda car with drivers Joel Miller and Sylvain
Tremblay; the #42 P Nissan Oak Racing car with drivers
Olivier Pla and Gustavo Yacaman; the #55 GT Le Mans (GTLM)
BMW car with driver Bill Auberlen, and #5 P Corvette DP
Action Express car with drivers João Barbosa and
Christian Fittipaldi. An autograph session with all of
these drivers will begin at 6:00pm.
Tony
Carbajal, freestyle sport bike stunt rider, will perform
motorcycle stunts on Corona and 2nd streets with shows
at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.
Adding
to the festivities, AM 570 FOX Sports L.A. will be broadcasting
live from Legends with the “Petros and Money Show”
from 3 – 7 p.m. Legends will also be raffling off
an TUDOR United SportsCar Championship “Behind the
Scenes” experience (see attached agenda for the
experience) available to anyone who attends the event
and signs up at the restaurant.
Also
available will be Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach event
fan guides that contain information on the series and
include illustrations of all of the cars that will be
racing.
